Burlington Slowly Re-opens its Economy and Issues New Rules for Events and Get-Togethers

On July 24, 2020, The Region of Halton, in which the City of Burlington, Ontario resides, was allowed by the Province of Ontario to begin Stage 3 and slowly re-open with new rules and guidelines in place.

Existing rules continue in that all citizens are responsible for the protection of themselves and others to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Novel Coronovirus that has been the centre of the 2020 world pandemic.  This includes maintaining a physical distance of 2 metres (6 feet) between people who do not reside at the same residence, washing your hands and not touching your face.  Using a hand sanitizer.  When you need to cough or sneeze, do so into your folded elbow.

People travelling into Ontario from out of the country must quarantine for 14 days.  Non-essential travel between the USA and Canada is not permitted.

New rules:  The City of Burlington has passed a By-law requiring all persons entering a building or enclosed space, or using the local transit system shall wear a non-surgical mask covering the nose, mouth and chin.  A maximum of 10 people may gather in a social setting, a maximum of 50 people may attend an indoor function and a maximum of 100 people may attend an outdoor function, provided that all COVID-19 requirements are adhered to regarding physical distancing and personal hygiene.
